Educative book for Fleurus Editions
In 2021 I had the chance to work for Fleurus Editions, one of the biggest French publishing house, specialised in children’s books. They asked me to illustrate three full original scenes depicting a great invention of history. They were published in 2021 in their book “Les Inventions”. This book is part of a series of educative books, named “La Grande Imagerie”. This series, destined to children between 6 and 10, intends to teach a variety of different subjects, including history, science, sports, animals, nature, and many more.
The first image, “Arpanet”, represents the first concept of Internet, created in the 1960s by four American universities.
The second image, “Television Show”, displays the backstage of a television show in the 60s/70s.
Finally, the third illustration, “Telephone”, represents Alexander Bell, launching the first telephone connection between New York and Chicago, in 1892. It was made in public. However, at the time, women were forbidden to attend such events. Therefore this explains why there are only men among the public.
